Year-end Gifts from IRA Account Checkbooks

In recent years, we have noted an increase in the use of IRA account checkbooks to issue physical checks for gift distributions. The IRS recognizes the date of these gifts as the date the check clears the IRA account. We therefore advise donors making such gifts to ensure we receive your check by December 16 to allow it to be deposited and cleared in time.
